Burglar and Fire Alarms

Fire alarm systems, within the City, that sound outside the structure or in any way summon the police or fire departments, must have a  permit.

There is an annual $50 fee and a new application must be submitted each year prior to the expiration date. Applications for permits may be obtained from the Community Development Department at 1209 Alamo during normal business hours or by calling 903-886-1101.

Burning Permits

Outdoor burning is not allowed within the city limits. Cooking in appliances designed for such is  allowed,  but, safety precautions are urged. The only burn permits allowed to be issued by the Texas Air Control      Board must come through the Fire Chief's office.

Only tree and brush trimmings are allowed to be burned and the material and area must be inspected by the Fire Chief or his representative prior to issuance of the permit.

Any outdoor burning without the proper permit may result

in a citation being issued and the fire extinguished.
