Every 10 years the United States conducts a census to count every person living in the nation. This information influences how federal funds will be distributed for community services such as schools and roads. It also determines the representation of each state in the U.S. House of Representatives. April 1, 2010 has been delcared Census Day nationwide. Residents will begin receiving their questionnaires in March. When you get your Census questionnaire, complete it accurately and return it to the Census Bureau. By completing your questionnaire you will help to ensure a more accurate count so that the City of Commerce can receive its fair share of necessary services and resources.

Completing the Census questionnaire is required by law and your information is confidential. Census workers do not share information about immigration, citizenship or legal status.
