The Public Works Department is charged with the operation and maintenance of the public utility and service systems within our community and is made up of four sections that include Street Maintenance, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection and Solid Waste. 

The Department is housed in several different buildings. With a total of 23 personnel, the Public Works department is the largest department in the City of Commerce and serves the citizens numerous ways by delivering a work schedule that provides safe and reliable streets, water treatment and distribution, sewage collection and treatment.
